It is with a heavy heart that I announce the untimely death of Houston area painter, Doug Sweet.  We have represented his exquisite photo-realist works on canvas for the entire time Kirchman Gallery has been in Johnson City TX.  I was trying to reach Doug regarding details of our upcoming showing of his work at the Rockport Center for the Arts Spring Art Fair when I got the sad news.  Since Mr Sweet had long been and educator at San Jacinto College, together with his family members we made the decision to fund a scholarship in his honor with proceeds from the Fair. We will have 19 pieces available, starting now on www.KirchmanGallery.com
