Nature provides many of us with a mental and spiritual retreat, a source of artistic and intellectual inspiration, and a setting for personal reflection. There is nothing quite like a majestic mountain or a deserted tropical beach to inspire the creative mind.
I find great emotional sustenance in certain landscapes. I enjoy using my camera to dissect these landscapes into smaller vignettes. In the studio, I get completely immersed in the captured image. Here I gently coax my favorites onto paper or canvas.
The whole thing is mostly about the process for me; from experiencing the place, to capturing the image with my camera, to creating something tangible in the studio.
