It seems that many of us are in the “fast lane”, with a whole lot going on around us, which we hardly have time to notice. Sometimes what we perceive is smeared and distorted because we only see it at a glance. We are in too big a hurry, speeding our way through the weeks, months and years, on our way to somewhere or something else.
I drove the same stretch of road back and forth, 110 miles each way, at least once a week, for over ten years. I was always in a hurry.
These images portray the Texas landscape as I see it, whooshing by in my peripheral vision. I am fascinated by the patterns of light made by cars, skies, clouds and trees. I try to allow the viewer to both feel the movement and simultaneously see the details that our eyes miss.
